Flow of Life Circle: Breathwork for Balance

Anxiety, stress and over-stimulation caused by rushing through daily life take a toll on our emotional and physical health.  Emotional and physical balance are essential to having a healthy life.  Taking control of your schedule by setting priorities that allow for adequate rest and relaxation are beginning steps to leading a proactive, balanced life.  Though it is not always easy, a shift in perspective can be the difference between running your life, or letting it run you.

Many of the illnesses and psychosomatic problems we face (insomnia, fatigue, etc) can be eased by learning to control our breathing.  The number of people diagnosed with anxiety is alarming.  Many of those people find themselves struggling to breathe, often going through expensive tests to rule out heart-related problems, only to learn that managing their stress is the key to resolving these physical manifestations.  While there is a thinking component to managing anxiety, learning techniques to control the breath and release stress that is stored in the muscles is the key to mastering these problems.

Whether you are looking for a way to unwind, carving out precious 'me-time' for relaxation, want to take steps toward living a more balanced life or need to learn to manage stress and anxiety, the Flow of Life Circle is a great place to begin.  Some people  who have benefited from breathwork sessions have been prompted by cardiologists who diagnosed their chest pains as anxiety rather than heart problems (after thorough testing), those who were experiencing panic attacks triggered by specific events or triggers (including PTSD), some who wanted to learn to relax and others who felt out of balance or over-stimulated.  Many who participate in these sessions are taking anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medications, but want to learn other ways to manage their symptoms or complement traditional therapy.

Each circle meets for four weeks.   We will use breathwork, progressive muscle relaxation and visualization to bring more balance into our lives.  The fee is $100.   Date TBA
